The LaserWeeder is a tractor-drawn implement from Carbon Robotics that kills weeds with light instead of chemicals or tillage. A 20-foot liftable frame carries 30 diode lasers of 150 W each, 42 high-resolution cameras and 9 high-intensity LED light bars, with more than 100 AI deep-learning crop models identifying crops and weeds. Carbon Robotics states the machine shoots over 5,000 weeds per minute with sub-millimetre accuracy and kills up to 99 percent of weeds while covering 0.5 to 1.5 acres per hour.
