Privacy Policy

How RoboDex collects, uses, and protects information when you browse the robotics encyclopedia, use search, or contact the editorial team.

Last updated: August 4, 2026. RoboDex (“we”, “us”) operates the public website at robodex.app. This policy explains what information we process when you use the public site.

Information we collect

Most browsing on RoboDex does not require an account. We may process:

  • Technical data such as IP address, browser type, device class, and approximate location derived from IP.
  • Usage data such as pages viewed, search queries, referrers, and interaction events that help us understand catalog performance.
  • Messages you voluntarily send through contact channels (email or similar), including the content of corrections, press, or partnership inquiries.
  • Optional preferences stored locally in your browser (for example theme preference).

Analytics

We use privacy-conscious analytics and first-party telemetry to understand which robots, companies, and technologies people explore. Analytics are used to improve navigation, search relevance, and editorial coverage — not to sell personal profiles.

Cookies and similar technologies

RoboDex may use essential cookies or local storage for session integrity, security, and preferences (such as light/dark theme). Non-essential analytics cookies, when used, are limited to measuring aggregate traffic and catalog usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect theme persistence or Studio login if you use editorial tools.

Search usage

Search queries help us improve the robotics knowledge graph and detect missing entities. Queries may be logged in aggregate or anonymized form. Do not submit personal data into search.

Third-party services

The public site may load content hosted by third parties, including images from manufacturers, research institutions, or Wikimedia Commons, and infrastructure providers that host RoboDex. Those providers process data under their own policies when your browser requests their resources.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us via the Contact page.

Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy as RoboDex evolves. Material changes will be reflected by revising the “Last updated” date on this page. Continued use of the site after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy where permitted by law.
