History
Agility Robotics unveiled Digit in February 2019 as a bipedal platform extending its Cassie locomotion research with arms, sensing, and manipulation for human-scale environments.
Purpose
Digit is built to move material in warehouses and distribution centers designed for people, including tote handling and connecting islands of automation.
Highlights
GXO and Agility publicly reported Digit pilots for tote transfer from autonomous mobile robots to conveyors at SPANX warehouse operations in Georgia.
Development
Digit was redesigned for logistics work with updated end effectors, perception, and the Agility Arc cloud platform for fleet operation. Agility manufactures Digit at RoboFab in Salem, Oregon.
Future Roadmap
Agility continues expanding commercial Digit deployments and announced a next-generation platform with higher payload and cooperative safety features in development.
